Now you can enjoy your wine immediately with a fantastic new device called a Wine Aerator! To enhance your "tasting" pleasure, we will Aerate EVERY Reserve Room wine this year!
The point of Aeration is two fold.
First, the goal is to separate any sediment or tartrates that may have collected in the bottle.
Secondly, it allows the wine increased contact with the air
With a sharp, young white wine, decanting can decrease the slightly 'fizzy' bite that detracts from flavors on the attack, and can exxagerate and prolong rich undertones that may have been less noticeable.
With a tight, underdeveloped red, decanting can bring new depth and complexity to an otherwise uninteresting wine, showing many new facets of flavor that would otherwise not be noticeable without years of further aging.
